Full day tour: 9:00 – 17:00 h
Visit Zagorje with an included visit to the Krapina Neanderthal Museum and Trakošćan Castle. Lunch will be organised at a local restaurant, called Villa Zelenjak.
The richest collection of Neanderthals in the world is kept at Hušnjakovo Hill in Krapina, in the Hrvatsko Zagorje region. Also known as Homo sapiens neanderthalensis, the Krapina prehistoric man was discovered all the way back in 1899, when geological and paleontological research started on Hušnjakovo Hill in Krapina.
Trakošćan Castle is an authentic cultural heritage site built in the 13th century. In 1954, it was turned into a museum with a permanent exhibition. This Croatian medieval treasure consists of a well-preserved castle, the outbuildings and the beautiful forest park with a lake.
After visiting these two historic sites, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and taste some authentic food.
